Hurricane Watch Ramon dissipated south of Mexico earlier Thursday. It no longer poses a threat to land.
The Eastern Pacific Basin is quiet and is expected to remain so over the next few days.
_______________________________________________________________________________________________________

By Friday morning we’re slated to see a significant bump up in size at the best South facing breaks. If models hold true, we should see shoulder high to a few feet OH sets roll in from that same 195-200 degree angle with 18-20 second intervals. This one looks pretty solid, so dust off your paddling arms and find a nice S/SW facing reef or point!

We are also expecting to see a combo of NW ground and NW wind swell enter the fray, with waist, to possibly chest high sets for the top West facing spots. The SW energy will remain the featured player, but the energy out of the West could cut up the long Southerly lines and help out the beach breaks in terms of wave shape.

For the Hermosa HOTDOGGER SURF CONTEST FORECAST on Saturday morning it looks like Mother Nature will sprinkle at least a little love in the direction of the longboarders. While nothing epic will file into Hermosa beach, there should be a fairly steady stream of smallish, NW ground swell and NW wind swell in play throughout the day. We’re anticipating waist high + surf with some larger sets mixing in.

The more dominant swell will be out of the SW from that same 195-200 degree angle, but the motherlode of energy will sneak right past Hermosa in favor of the more receptive S/SW facing beaches.

For everyone else, expect that SW energy to continue to drum up head high to a few feet OH sets throughout the day. This energy will get into almost any spot with a look at the South and the West/SW facing breaks will get the NW combo swell mixing in!

This swell will be on a slow methodical fade over the next 3 days, which in a nutshell means it will get smaller and less consistent as time passes by.
