STEVEN GWIN
The bible is filled with all sorts of references
to serpents, snakes and creatures of lowly regard.
This month's snake is of particular interest in
that he is regarded as a holy roller and appears
to be quite devout in his faith.
As ironies make for a good story, Steven Gwin, as
familiar a face in the water as his trusty and rusty
SUV is to the parking lot. Steven is a diehard in
that he makes the paddle before work almost every
day.
As I said he has strong religious beliefs and will
be more than happy to share them with you, whether
you want him to or not. But like all religious people
there seems to be an inner struggle between good
and evil in the man. I'm not sure it has occurred
to Steven that he constantly breaks one of the Lords
Ten Commandments. Steven is a snake and snaking
is a tacit form of stealing.
His repertoire goes like this. " What a glorious
day", "These waves truly are a blessing"
Hallelujahs all around and then as soon as a wave
appears, he is demonized and shoulder hops like
nobody's business.
His tactics create some anger and frustration, but
he has the oldest excuse known to mortal men---
THE DEVIL MADE ME DO IT!!
I guess the best way to escape his wrath is to say
your prayers and hit it early on Sundays...
