SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA SURF FORECAST UPDATED 3-4-13
Tuesday morning the NW swell will continue to taper off and hit the waist high plus mark for the better West facing breaks. We will also see another little burst of South swell, (from 200 degrees), fill in through the day. The exposed South facing breaks should see waist to chest high sets.

The conditions look okay with variable winds in the 2-5 MPH range until 11AM and 9-11 MPH West winds in the afternoon. We’ll see an air temp of 59 degrees on the sand.
For Wednesday morning we’ll see a combination of fresh, 16-18 second interval, NW swell, NW wind swell and the Southern Hemi swell, (from a liberal, 200 degree angle). Pretty much every break should see some energy from this scenario. The top West facing breaks should see chest to head high sets and the South facing beaches will see sets in the chest high zone, (and many will get a little boost from the wind swell that’s out there).

The conditions should be okay for spots that can handle a Southerly wind. On paper, we’re looking at breezes out of the SE at 4-9 MPH winds until 11AM and west winds will get up to 10-12 MPH in the afternoon. The air temp will remain a chilly 59 degrees.
For Thursday morning the surf will be in the head high plus range for the top NW facing spots as the energy continues to throw 14-16 second intervals from that same 300 degree angle. We will also see a smaller version of SW swell and NW wind swell. The weather looks a little iffy as a stronger onshore flow moves in, but there will be some waves out there.

The conditions shouldn’t be too bad with variable, onshore breezes in the 3-6 MPH zone until 11AM and up to 10-15 MPH in the afternoon. There’s a 20% chance of showers and we’ll see an air temp of 58 degrees
On Friday morning the SW swell will cough up a few small, inconsistent, straggler sets and the NW ground swell and wind swell will back off into the chest high zone. We should also see some fresh, NW energy fill in later in the day and be good for chest to shoulder high sets by sundown.
