SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA SURF FORECAST UPDATED 4-14-13
______________________________________________________________________________

Sorry for lapse in service. I’m trapped in Akron Ohio with limited internet service. Flying home this afternoon, (thank God), and will resume with my usual duties!
______________________________________________________________________________

For Monday morning we’ll see chest to shoulder high NW wind swell for the better West facing beaches and a fairly strong, steeply angled, SW swell will fill in through the day from a 180-190 degree angle. This is a long period, deep water swell that will put the top spots into the overhead range for Tuesday morning.

Monday
2013-04-15 Mon 12:04 AM 4.73 feet High Tide
2013-04-15 Mon 06:22 AM Sunrise

2013-04-15 Mon 06:13 PM 2.57 feet Low Tide
2013-04-15 Mon 07:25 PM Sunset

The conditions should be okay for the spots that can handle a Southerly wind. We’ll see breezes out of the SE in the 4-9 MPH range until 11AM and 10-16 MPH winds out of the West in the afternoon. The air temp will top out at 60 degrees.

By Tuesday morning the swell should be in full swing with overhead, punchy sets for the better South facing breaks. The OC and San O’ areas should be pumping but the lesser exposed breaks will have a tough time pulling it in.

The NW wind swell will continue to drum up shoulder to head high waves so all in all, April will continue to outshine our piss poor WInter season.

Wednesday morning should continue to produce good surf with chest to head high wind swell for the West facing breaks and continued steeply and selective South swell sliding up the coast at a 170-180 degree angle. This swell will get into spots like Newport, Huntington and parts of the San O’ area but bypass everything else.
