SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA SURF FORECAST UPDATED 4-3-13
______________________________________________________________________________

Thursday morning will start off pretty small, with knee to waist high surf most everywhere. The good news is that some fresh, long interval, SW energy moves in from a fairly liberal 200 degree angle in the afternoon. This should deliver some punchy, 18-20 second interval, shoulder high scout sets before dark for the better South facing beaches.

Th 4 High 5:17 AM 4.5
4 Low 12:24 PM -0.2
4 High 7:06 PM 3.9

The conditions will be a little more questionable with light and variable winds in the 1-4 MPH range until 11AM and those will jump up into the 10-18 MPH zone out of the West winds for the afternoon. The air temp will top out at 66 degrees.

Friday morning should be pretty good as the SW swell kicks into high gear and dishes up chest to shoulder high sets for any spot with a peek at the South and head high to overhead waves for spots in the OC and San O’ areas. We’ll also see some locally brewed, short interval, NW wind swell in the mix to break apart those long Southerly lines.

Fri 5 Low 12:36 AM 1.6
5 High 6:31 AM 4.6
5 Low 1:14 PM -0.2
5 High 7:44 PM 4.4

The conditions should be okay if the sea surface can iron itself out overnight. We’ll start the morning off with light and variable winds in the 2-6 MPH until 11AM and back up to 12-18 MPH West winds in the afternoon. The air temp will top out at 66 degrees.

Saturday morning looks interesting as the SW swell holds and mixes in with the local, short interval, wind swell and some new, long interval ground swell out of the NW. The good news is that the combination of energy should put most all breaks in business for the morning. Top West and South facing beaches should see head high plus waves with some bigger sets at the top combo spots.

Sa 6 Low 1:33 AM 1.1
6 High 7:30 AM 4.7
6 Low 1:56 PM -0.2
6 High 8:18 PM 4.8

The conditions look fair with light and variable winds out of the East in the 3-5 MPH range until 11AM and those will climb into 10-13 MPH West winds in the afternoon. The air temp will hit the 66 degree mark.

For Sunday morning the SW energy will become smaller and less consistent but the NW combo will continue to serve up chest to head high sets. Looks like a pretty fun weekend for surf as long as the winds stick to the game plan!

Su 7 Low 2:20 AM 0.6
7 High 8:21 AM 4.7
7 Low 2:33 PM -0.1
7 High 8:49 PM 5.1

The conditions should be okay with light and variable winds out of the East in the 2-4 MPH range until 11AM and back up to 11-16 MPH out of the West in the afternoon. The air temp will top out at 66 degrees.
