For Wednesday morning we’ll see a combination of small, waist high SW swell from an angle of 190-200 degrees and some fresh 8-10 second interval NW wind swell in the chest high plus range for the top West facing beaches. The tides are a bit fat in the morning, but with Santa Ana conditions moving in I’m anticipating a clean sea surface all day long. This means you’ll be able pick your time frame if your schedule is flexible!

2015-04-15 Wed 07:25 PM Sunset
2015-04-15 Wed 08:04 PM 5.22 feet High Tide

The conditions should stellar with high pressure setting up camp for a couple of days. Most spots will see offshore winds in the 7-21 MPH range until noon, (with much stronger gusts below the passes and canyons) and 10-13 MPH out of the West in the afternoon. The air temp heats up to a toasty 75 degrees.

For Thursday morning all energy will back down leaving us with small SW swell and NW wind swell in the waist high plus range. Once again an overzealous morning high tide will slow things to a crawl early but once again, schedule permitting, the ocean surface should remain clean throughout the day!

The conditions look awesome as high pressure remains dominant. We will see 7-20 MPH winds out of E/NE the until noon, (with much stronger gusts below the passes and canyons), and those will give way to 10-15 MPH out of the West in the afternoon, but the sea surface should be relatively clean all day long. The air temp creeps up to a balmy 78 degrees.

For Friday morning we’ll see small SW pulses in the background from a 190-200 degree angle. The more exciting news is that some unseasonal, long interval, NW swell will start showing up throughout the day. This energy will move in from a fairly steep 300 degrees with 16-19 second intervals and the most exposed West facing beaches should see shoulder to head high sets by days end.
