Chance…30 percent…Of becoming a tropical cyclone during the Next 48 hours.
Elsewhere…Tropical cyclone formation is not expected during the Next 48 hours.
Friday morning looks smaller as the SW energy continues it’s slow fade. The angle will remain 190-195 degrees but only tape out at waist to chest high on the sets.
The NW wind swell will continue to dish up waist to chest high wind peaks for the better West facing beaches.

The conditions look okay with SE/SSE winds in the 1-3 MPH zone until 10 and 7-9 MPH winds in the afternoon. The air temp will top out at 70 degrees.
Saturday morning looks a little better with an increase in SW ground swell from a more liberal angle of 210-220 degrees. This will translate into more breaks being able to pick up the energy. The top South facing breaks should go chest to shoulder high plus on the sets.
The NW wind swell will relax into the waist high range for the better West facing beaches.

The current water temps Newport 60 degrees, Huntington 59 degrees, the South Bay showed as 67 degrees, Santa Monica 66 degrees and Malibu 61 degrees.
