HURRICANE WATCH Saturday, July 26, 2014 – We have a new tropical system in the eastern Pacific. Tropical Depression 8 has formed Saturday morning several hundred miles south-southeast of Baja California. The storm will be moving along at a fairly quick pace to the northwest at 14 mph and will likely intensify later today and become Tropical Storm Hernan as it moves through weak shear and over warm water favorable for additional development.

There is another area of disturbed weather located about 1,200 miles to the southwest of the southern tip of Baja California Peninsula. This area of showers and thunderstorms will drift westward over the next few days and may develop into a tropical depression.

Tuesday morning looks weak again with knee high plus surf up and down the coast. *** There is however a glimmer of hope out there. There’s been quite a bit of activity in the tropics and if Mother Nature tips the scales in our favor we could see some Hurricane swell. Nothing is etched in stone just yet so stay tuned and keep your fingers crossed.
