HURRICANE WATCH Tuesday, July 29, 2014 – Tropical Storm Hernan has degenerated into a remnant low in the open waters of the Pacific well west of Mexico. What is left of the system is expected to drift westward over the next day or two before it dissipates.
A second area of disturbed weather, located several hundred miles southwest of the southwestern coast of Mexico, remains disorganized at this time. As the system moves steadily westward, it is expected to become better organized slowly later this week.

For Wednesday morning our fate will remain in the hands of Mother Nature, but it looks like only weak, steeply angled Hurricane swell will be on the buffet.
Hernan petered out quickly and will only dish up sporadic, sideways, 160-170 degree swell. This will hit places like Huntington and Newport with waist to chest high sets.

Friday morning looks weak again with knee high plus surf up and down the coast. *** TS Hernan still hasn’t reached Hurricane status and it appears as if it won’t generate wind speeds beyond 70 MP, (Cat 1 Hurricane). Also, the swell it will be sending our way will move up the line ant a sideways 160-170 degree angle. This basically means only THE MOST EXPOSED South facing breaks will see any sets, and those won’t be much bigger than waist to chest high.
