SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA SURF FORECAST UPDATED 3-16-14

For Monday morning we’ll see some fresh ground swell move in from a 295-300 degree angle and 16-18 second intervals. This should be good for head high to overhead sets for the better West facing beaches.

There will also be a decent tide push for the early risers.

The conditions look tolerable with variable winds in the 2-5 MPH range until 11AM and 8-10 MPH out of the West in the afternoon. The air temp will drop down to 72 degrees.

For Tuesday morning definitely has some potential as that 295-300 degree ground swell fades through the day. The morning should be good for shoulder to head high sets for the better West facing breaks.

The conditions look a little better with variable winds out of the East, in the 2-10 MPH range until 11AM and 10-12 MPH out of the West in the afternoon. The air temp clocks in at 70 degrees.

By Wednesday morning the surf will be on the fade but the better West facing breaks should still dish up chest to shoulder high sets for the morning sessions. It will be a combo of dying ground swell and some 300 degree, 10-12 second wind swell.

The conditions look to be fantastic with NE/NNE breezes in the 5-8 MPH range until 1PM and 6-10 MPH out of the West in the afternoon. The air temp tops out at a 71 degrees.

Thursday morning looks to be smaller with leftover wind swell, from a steep 300 degree angle. The better West facing breaks look to do no better than waist high plus.

The tide starts off low at first light and has a subtle push through the AM.

The current water temps Newport 62 degrees, Huntington 63 degrees, the South Bay showed as 63 degrees, Santa Monica 63 degrees and Malibu 61 degrees.
