HURRICANE WATCH: The weather across the Eastern Pacific Basin remains relatively quiet after an active few weeks. No tropical development is expected over the next 3-5 days and the only thunderstorm activity will occur across the ITCZ.

Monday morning may provide a small, quickly collapsing window of decent conditions early but double digit onshore winds are slated to jump up as early as 11AM and blow around the clock at a blustery 8-20+ MPH clip.

The surf will have a little size as that NW ground swell peaks with head high to OH sets at the best West facing breaks but conditions look to deteriorate quickly.

The conditions look okay for the early AM with light SE/SSE breezes at 2-6 until 11AM and 8-20+ MPH out of the West in the afternoon. There is a 40% chance of rain and the air temp drops to 70 degrees.

Tuesday morning we will a combination of fading NW Ground swell and some fresh, short interval NW wind swell but the conditions look iffy on paper. The best West facing beaches will rake in head high to OH sets but from the looks of things it won’t be particularly pretty.

Wednesday morning looks fun with with smaller, fading, NW ground swell and wind swell in the chest high plus range for the morning.

The conditions look decent for the AM with variable breezes in the 1-4 MPH zone until noon and 5-8 MPH out of the West in the afternoon. The air temp backs down 78 degrees.

The current water temps Newport 68 degrees, Huntington 68 degrees, the South Bay showed as 69 degrees, Santa Monica 67 degrees and Malibu 67 degrees.
