SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA SURF FORECAST UPDATED 10-6-13
______________________________________________________________________________

Wow, what a great weekend for weather… It doesn’t get much better than this! If only Mother Nature was using outlook or entourage, (or even had a relationship with Siri), she could have scheduled a proper swell so we could reap the benefits of all day glass. Once again she sits on the couch, eating Bon Bons and watching the NFL Sunday ticket. Rumor has it that she’s a Raider fan, so as soon as her interest begins to wane, (last week?), she might get back to work, and whip up a couple of legitimate swells!

HURRICANE WATCH 10-6-13

A cluster of thunderstorms located about 900 miles south-southwest of the southern tip of Baja California has developed into Tropical Depression Fourteen-E. Over the past 24 hours, this cluster of storms have become better organized. Conditions are favorable for further strengthening over the next day or two

Monday morning looks pretty small with the best bet being some new, small, steeply angled NW energy coming in at 305 degrees. This should equate to waist high surf for the best NW facing breaks. The bonus is that there is a huge tide push through the prime surfing hours, so once again, it might be worth a look before the Santa Ana’s turn tail and the coast cools down again.

There may be a few, SW straggler sets, but being a betting man I’ll keep the chips off the table…

For Wednesday morningthings should pick up a hair with waist to possibly chest high surf at the top West facing breaks and some smaller, 195 degree, SW swell mixing in. There’s a decent tide push through the dawn patrol , so who knows? You might be able to get a couple notches on the belt.

By Thursday morninglooks a little more solid with waist to chest high sets out of NW handsome fresh SW energy creeping in late in the day. Not the preferred wave bonanza we’ve been waiting for but at this point I’ll take whatever I can get.
