Have to bust out the archives now – Here’s some vintage Winter South Bay – pics by Jeff Bell.
SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA SURF FORECAST UPDATED 3-15-13
A little bit of swell snuck in under the radar today and select spots in the South Bay had some lurching, shoulder high sets. Don’t worry, you didn’t miss anything though, it was about 98% closed out even with the tide filling in. It just goes to show you that even with all the technology we have access to, some swell will still manage to slip through the cracks!
Saturday morning there is no swell of significance to report. The top spots will wallow in the knee to waist high zone.

On Sunday morning there’s a slim chance of some short interval, wind swell that could give the better West facing breaks into the waist high plus zone.

Monday morning will continue to be on the small side with knee to waist high surf most everywhere. Late in the day/early evening some 16-18 second interval SW swell will start to fill in. That should be good for waist high plus sets at the best South facing breaks.

For Tuesday morning any beach that’s receptive to 190-195 degree angle out of the S/SW will see some small, but long interval swell in the waist high plus range. It won’t be big but should have a little oomph to it.
