HURRICANE WATCH: Hilda remains a Category 1 hurricane late Monday morning Hawaiian standard time. The storm is centered 400 miles to the southeast of Hilo, Hawaii, with maximum sustained winds of 90 mph. Hilda will weaken further as it continues to approach the Hawaiian Islands.
Elsewhere across the eastern Pacific, there is a large cluster of showers and thunderstorms centered about 1,200 miles west-southwest of the southern tip of Baja California. This area of unsettled weather may gradually develop some tropical characteristics over the next few days.

There is some smallish severely angle South swell moving in from a steep 170 degree angle. Only the most exposed breaks will even get a sniff of this one and even then it won’t amount to much more than waist high plus sets.
