SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA SURF FORECAST UPDATED 8-12-15

HURRICANE WATCH: In the eastern Pacific, there is a large cluster of showers and thunderstorms centered about 1,500 miles west-southwest of the southern tip of Baja California. This feature will move into an increasingly hostile environment for development in coming days, so the chance for development is small.
Another area of disturbed weather south of Guatemala and El Salvador has some convection associated with it, although it is disorganized at this time. As this feature moves westward over the next several days, there is the potential for tropical development by this weekend.
Thursday morning looks like more small surf with a chance of a little NW wind swell mixing in!

The conditions shouldn’t be too bad but there will be onshore breezes in the 2-6 MPH zone until 11AM and 9-12 MPH out of the West in the afternoon. The air temp gets up to 81 degrees.
Friday looks no better with uninspiring knee to waist high surf everywhere.
There is some smallish severely angle South swell moving in from a steep 170 degree angle. Only the most exposed breaks will even get a sniff of this one and even then it won’t amount to much more than waist high plus sets.
