Up here in the Sierras at Shaver Lake and the surf conditions mirror those of home. Onshore winds and waves in the ankle to knee high zone… speedboat passing by permitting. I just thought it was funny that the winds were fu#$ed up even up here! Anyway, things have to get better at some point… right?

SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA SURF FORECAST UPDATED 8-22-13
______________________________________________________________________________

HURRICANE WATCH 8-22-13

Tropical Depression 9 Formed early Thursday morning approximately 390 miles south-southwest of Baja California. The storm has maximum sustained winds of 35 mph and is moving slowly north-northwest at 6 mph, a track that, if it persists, would keep its center from land.

Convection re-developed near the low-level center of circulation late Wednesday night and satellite imagery indicates that it is showing signs of developing into an organized band, wrapping around the center. TD 9 is expected to slowly strengthen over the next 24 hours, and is forecast to intensify to tropical storm strength by Friday morning. Should this occur, TD 9 would gain the name Ivo.
