SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA SURF FORECAST UPDATED 2-12-15

On Friday morning some fresh NW swell should peak with 14-16 second intervals from a 275-290 degree angle. The best West facing breaks should be OH to a couple feet OH.

The South West facing breaks should get a little bit of wrap with all the West in the swell direction.

The conditionsshould be pretty good early with winds out of the NE in the 5-12 MPH zone until noon and mild 4-6 MPH breezes out of the West in the afternoon. The air temp tops out at 81 degrees.

On Saturday morning, (Valentines Day), that swell will continue to generate head high plus sets for the better West facing breaks, (possibly bigger sets), in the morning and slowly back down throughout the day.

The conditionsshould be pretty good early with variable winds out of the East in the 3-9 MPH zone until 11AM and 4-8 MPH out of the West in the afternoon. High pressure will start to break down later in the day but we’ll get one more nice warm one with the air temp topping out at 80 degrees.

On Sunday morning that swell will be on the fade but continue to dish up some chest to maybe shoulder to head high sets for the exposed West facing breaks.

For Monday morningboth weather and swell will take a turn for the worse. The surf disappears for a couple days and we’ll be left with waist high surf for the best West facing beaches.

* An early high tide will stifle the little surf for the dawn patrol.

The conditionslook okay but a far cry from the Santa Anas from last week. We should see light and variable breezes out of the West in the 1-4 MPH zone and those pick up to 10-12 MPH in the afternoon. The air temp dips to 69 degrees on the sand.

For Tuesday morningit looks like we’re in for more of the same with anemic, waist high surf pretty much everywhere.

The conditionsshould rebound with a morning offshore flow. We’ll see NE/NNE to the tune of 2-11 until 11AM and 7-11 MPH out of the West. The air temp holds steady at 69 degrees.

The current water temps Newport 63 degrees, Huntington 61 degrees, the South Bay showed as 63 degrees, Santa Monica 62 degrees and Malibu 60 degrees.
