SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA SURF FORECAST UPDATED 1-4-16
Follow us on Facebook Check it out!
For Wednesday morning we’ll see the coast lit up with muscle flexing swell in the DOH (Double Overhead) to nearly TOH (Triple Overhead) range. All of this energy will be in the 275-290 degree range and really be packing some heat.
*Be wary of the urban runoff. The water will undoubtedly be filthy, so if you do surf, be sure to wear ear plugs and rinse you nose, ears and body thoroughly as soon as you get out of the water. Obviously it is advised to stay high and dry.

The conditions look predictably unpredictable so here’s a graph with the wind projections from one of my trusted sources. There is a 90% chance of rain and the air temp tops out at 59 degrees.
For Thursday morning we’ll see our biggest surf of the season so far. The top West facing breaks will be thumping, pumping and dumping with DOH (Double Overhead) to TOH (Triple Overhead) plus waves.
With the drop in the jet stream these swells will continue to have quite a bit of West in them, (275-295 degrees), and will definitely push their way into every nook and cranny on the coast.
*Be wary of the urban runoff. The water quality will continue to be compromised.

The conditions look interesting with some early, light but swirling winds which should give ways to Easterly breezes at 4-12 MPH mid morning and continue out of the East until dark. There is an 20% chance of rain and the air temp tops out at 56 degrees.
For Friday morning the swell will start to back down but remain formidable with OH to DOH sets at the better West facing breaks.

For Saturday morning the surf will continue a slow fade but dish up plenty of size with head high to OH sets for the better West facing breaks.

The conditions should be decent with variable offshore winds in the 7-15 MPH zone all day long. There is a 70% chance of rain and the air temp tops out at 56 degrees.
For Sunday morning size will dip down to a more user friendly shoulder to head high zone but the conditions look slightly suspect and the water quality remains questionable at best.
