HURRICANE WATCH: There are no organized tropical features across the Eastern Pacific Basin at this time.
More favorable conditions should lead to the development of another tropical cyclone within the next couple of days. Recent information suggests the system will develop well away from any important land mass and should stay well away from land the rest of this week and perhaps during it’s entire lifetime. Stay tuned!
So I went to Huntington Sunday morning, so at the very least, I would get the beef of the swell but just as I suspected… the hype was way better than the actual surf. Sure there were some head high sets, but I left a bit disappointed after fighting the drift for a couple hours and only getting a few “miami barrels” and some soft shoulders. These are tough times my friends, just keep your head up in anticipation of a booming El Nino season! Until then, the water is in high 60’s low 70’s so even just bobbing around out there is pretty enjoyable.
Tuesday morning should start off with a few morsels of meat still left on the bone, but don’t expect much more than waist to waist high + sets in the AM and a slow, Houdini like, disappearing act in the afternoon as the swell dies quickly.
