For Thursday morning we’ll see small, leftover background swell in the knee to waist high range for the dawn patrol.

The good news is that some fresh, long interval, (16-18 second), ground swell will come up the line later in the day, and should be in full force for some 4th of July fireworks! The only caveat is that it will be coming from a steep, 180-190 degree angle and the bulk of the swell will only get into the most exposed South facing beaches like the OC and San O’ areas.

Saturday morning looks pretty good if you can get to a South facing break. There should be some nice chest to head high plus sets at the most exposed South facing beaches. Any place with a structured bottom should do well. The waves will be powerful, with long intervals and lots of water moving around, (and the beach breaks may be a little walled).
