HURRICANE WATCH: The first is an area of low pressure around 1,300 miles east-southeast of the Hawaiian Islands. This system will slowly drift west-northwest over the next several days, and there is a chance for further development as it moves into a zone of warm waters and low wind shear. Both the American and European global models show this system as an organized tropical cyclone to the southeast of Hawaii later next week.
The second area that is being monitored is an area of showers and thunderstorms about 1,300 miles south-southwest of Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. This feature may develop further early next week as it tracks west-northwest.
For Saturday morning, THE 4th of JULY, we’ll see the SW energy hit its stride with waist high plus sets for the South facing breaks and larger waves at the stand out spots in the OC and San O’ areas.
