HURRICANE WATCH: Tropical Depression Four-E has formed and is located about 850 miles to the east-southeast of the Big Island of Hawaii. Four-E is over very warm water and is in an area of low shear, which should encourage the development of T.D. 4-E and should allow it to become a tropical storm later on today.

Elsewhere, an area of showers and thunderstorms south of southeastern Mexico may develop into an area of low pressure later this week or this weekend. Long-range computer information suggests this could become an organized tropical system early next week.

Thursday morning that SW swell should continue to deliver chest high plus sets with some larger sneaker sets at the most exposed breaks in the OC and San O’ areas.

We’ll also see some fresh SW energy work its way into the mix with 16-18 second intervals from that same 215-220 degree angle.

Tides recover slightly.

Saturday morning that SW energy will dip slightly but have enough mustard to send chest high plus sets, (to most breaks that get a look at the South), and some larger waves showing up at the standout South facing breaks.

The good news is that yet another round of SW swell will start to fill in later in the day. The angle on this one will be 200 degrees so not quite as liberal as its predecessors but it should still get into any beach with a look at the South.
