HURRICANE WATCH: Tropical Storm Ela is located about 585 miles to the east of Hilo on the Big Island of Hawaii. Ela remains over marginally warm water in an area of moderate shear. Due to these unfavorable conditions, Ela is not expected to strengthen any further today and should start to weaken by tomorrow.
Elsewhere, an area of showers and thunderstorms south of southeastern Mexico should develop into an area of low pressure later this week and this weekend. Long-range computer information continues to show this system becoming an organized tropical system early next week a few hundred miles off the south coast of Mexico.
By Friday morningthat 215-220 degree angle will be in full force and should dish up chest to shoulder high sets, (with some larger waves for the top spots), throughout the day.
The tides look good for the dawn patrol with a slow recession through the morning.

The good news is that yet another round of SW swell will start to fill in later in the day. The angle on this one will be 200 degrees so not quite as liberal as its predecessors but it should still get into any beach with a look at the South.
