Beware of the Urban Runoff – It is advised to stay out of the water for 72 hours following any measurable rainfall. It’s always a roll of the dice, especially after a major downpour. The threat of getting sick is very real, so if you do insist on taking the plunge be sure to use ear plugs and upon exiting the ocean rinse off in hot water, use some alcohol based ear drops, and a nasal netti pot rinse for good measure never hurt anybody.

For Wednesday morning we’ll see some fresh short interval SW energy enter the scene from a very South Westerly 225-270 degrees and 8-10 second intervals. The top spots should see waist to chest high + surf.

For Thursday morning we’ll see another uptick in size as morel SW windswell rolls in, (230-280 degrees with 10-12 second intervals). We’re also due some small, steeply angled South swell move in at a sideways 170 degrees with stout 17 second intervals. This swell will only get into the most exposed South facing breaks and will top out at waist high +. The top beaches should see shoulder to head high + waves with lots of rain in the forecast.

For Friday morning we’ll see continued energy out of the South from that steep, 170 degree angle with 15-16 second intervals. We’ll see more waist high + sets at the exposed South facing breaks and we’ll see continued SW wind swell from 250 + degrees and short 8-10 second intervals.
