HURRICANE WATCH: Rick is a weakening tropical depression spinning over the open waters of the Eastern Pacific Ocean. Rick will continue to slowly weaken and become a post-tropical low by as early as tonight or Monday. Some tropical moisture from Rick could get drawn into northwestern Mexico later this week and fuel heavy showers and thunderstorms.
We are watching another feature located a few hundred miles south of the Gulf of Tehuantepec. As this feature continues to move west it will move into a favorable environment for tropical development. There is a high probability that this system will become a tropical depression in the next 24-48 hours.
El None Yo continues into next week with some storm surf on Wednesday into Thursday, (Thanksgiving), but we could see something a bit better for the weekend. Hang tough my friends, it’s only a matter of time until things start to pop for us!
For Monday morning there won’t be much of a change. If anything it looks smaller with knee to waist high surf.
* An early high tide will bury the small surf through the morning.

For Tuesday morning there won’t be much of a change for the morning but we should start seeing a little more NW wind swell energy start to filter in late in the day, (along with gusty onshore breezes).

For Wednesday morning we will see all day onshore winds and sloppy wind swell walking hand in hand with breezy culprit. Probably worth a look if you like to bust airs in wind slop, but as Austin Powers would say, “That’s not my bag baby!”

For Thursday morning – Happy Thanksgiving – we will see NW wind swell in the chest to shoulder high plus range but based on todays wind models it doesn’t look like the sea surface will have ample time to smooth out overnight… but that could change!
