For Sunday morning that Westerly swell will be winding down through the day. The morning will have the most size with chest to shoulder high plus sets at the top spots. The Westerly angle of the swell will remain at 275-285 degrees with 12-14 second intervals.

For Tuesday morning we’ll see some fresh W/NW energy build in through the day. This swell should go waist to chest high in the early AM and get up to a couple feet overhead by days end.

The conditions look a bit dodgey as my English friends would say as heavy rains are forecasted to blitz the coast. It’s listed as a 100% chance…maybe it should just be called 1005% sure at this point! However, the wind models are singing a different tune with breezes out of the East at 6-13 MPH all day long.

*Heavy rain has be conspicuously absent so far this year so if it does indeed pour like it is supposed to you might want to stay out of the water for a few days. I’m anticipating a toxic stew like we haven’t seen for years and until the Rip Curl 3/2 hazmat model is released to the public it will definitely be a roll of the dice! The air temp dips to 63 degrees.

For Wednesday morning the swell should hold with head high to overhead sets at the top West facing beaches.

The conditions look questionable with a 50% chance of rain but winds out of the S/SE/SSE at 4-10 MPH all day long. The air temp dips to 68 degrees.

The current water temps Newport 68 degrees, Huntington 65 degrees, the South Bay showed as 64 degrees, Santa Monica 65 degrees and Malibu 65 degrees.

I’ll be back on Sunday with the next update!
