HURRICANE WATCH November 5, 2014

– Strong upper-level winds continue to cause Vance to weaken this morning, and the storm has been downgraded to a tropical depression as the deep moisture continues to be pulled to the north and east of the low-level center of circulation.

Well the weather really doesn’t get much better than this. Clear skies, light winds, beach temps in the low 80’s… this is why we live in So Cal so get out there and seize the day!

Thursday morning looks like a waste of perfect conditions as the NW energy dips into the knee to waist high + range for top spots.

There’s a chance at some Hurricane Vance swell, but that’s not a slam dunk, and if it does show it will creep up the line at a ridiculously steep angle of 160-165 degrees. That being said, it will only make its presence known to most extremely South facing breaks, (so almost nowhere).

* Another monster high tide at around 8AM will put all spots in a sleeper hold head lock until late morning/early afternoon.

Thursday

The conditions look fantastic with winds out of the NE/NNE in the 3-10 MPH zone until noon, (expect stronger gusts below the passes and canyons), and then those remain light until sundown. The air temp tops out at a balmy 83 degrees.

For Friday morning the surf will back down further leaving us with inconsistent waves in the waist high zone on the right tide.

* Another super high tide looms large for the AM. It may be a good morning to find some flat stones and skip rocks from the shore!
