SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA SURF FORECAST UPDATED 11-9-15

HURRICANE WATCH: Currently, there are no organized tropical systems throughout the eastern Pacific Basin, and no development is likely for at least the next few days.
Tuesday could go either way, but is leaning toward crummy. The outer water winds are slated to start blowing hard Monday night so if everything I see on paper today holds true we’ll see a boat load of NW wind swell, coupled with peaking NW ground swell and onshore winds. Top West facing beaches will see shoulder to head high plus surf, but it likely won’t be pretty.

For Wednesday morning we will see fading NW ground swell and a decent dose of wind swell in the chest to possibly shoulder high zone at the best West facing beaches.

For Thursday morning we will see dropping NW wind swell in he waist high plus range and some new, small but strong, long interval swell out of the SW. The conditions may be a bit iffy with what looks to be a little too much North in the wind direction, but the wind models have been flip flopping with regularity, so lets wait and see. We’re anticipating N/NNE breezes in the 3-11 MPH until noon and 8-10 MPH out of the West in the afternoon. The air temp climbs to a comfortable 71 degrees.
The current water temps Newport 66 degrees, Huntington 65 degrees, the South Bay showed as 65 degrees, Santa Monica 64 degrees and Malibu 63 degrees.
