SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA SURF FORECAST UPDATED 10-10-13
______________________________________________________________________________

HURRICANE WATCH 10-10-13

ropical Depression Narda has dissipated in the Eastern Pacific. There is another area of disturbed weather that is being watched for possible development over the coming days. This broad area of low pressure is a few hundred miles to the south of Acapulco, Mexico. Current satellite imagery shows a large area of disorganized thunderstorms associated with the low pressure area. This storm is currently in an area of low wind shear and warm ocean waters, and we expect further organization over the next few days. The track of this system will likely curve northward and track close to, if not make landfall in, the Baja Peninsula of Mexico.

Friday morning is shaping up to be okay with a combination of waist high, NW energy and a mix of 2, small, but punchy, long interval swells out of the SW, (195-200 degrees). With the mix of energy most spots should see waist high plus surf and the exposed, South facing breaks in the OC and San O’ areas should see larger and more consistent sets.
