SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA SURF FORECAST UPDATED 10-13-13
______________________________________________________________________________

HURRICANE WATCH 10-13-13

Recent satellite imagery of Tropical Storm Octave shows organized convection around the center of low pressure. Octave will move to the north where conditions are favorable for further intensification with low wind shear and warm ocean waters.

With these favorable conditions in place, further strengthening is likely through Sunday and into Monday. Octave will continue to head northward over the next couple of days and then make a shift to the northeast.

As Octave moves to the northeast early in the week, it will encounter adverse environmental conditions which will help to weaken the storm. Octave will likely move over the southern Baja Peninsula as a depression or rainstorm midweek.

Monday morning is looking pretty feeble with waist high, 8-10 second interval energy out of the NW. Looks like our SW energy will be on it’s last leg, but leave South facing breaks with inconsistent waist to chest high on the occasional straggler set.
