HURRICANE WATCH: Tropical Storm Nora is located over 500 miles southeast of Hilo, Hawaii. Maximum sustained winds are now near 45 mph with higher gusts.

Nora is expected to continue to weaken over the next couple of days and will curve northward today through Thursday. It is expected to have no direct impact to land through at least Thursday. By this time, it appears like the storm will become a non-tropical system. It will then take a jog to the west Friday into Saturday moving a bit closer to the Hawaiian Islands.

We are currently monitoring an area of disturbed weather about 600 miles south-southwest of Manzanillo, Mexico. It remains very disorganized today, but development of this system is possible later this week.

What a great OCTOBER! I feel like I made a deal with the Devil. 5 consecutive days of great waves, smoking hot air temps and 70 + degree water up and down the coast. It doesn’t get much better than this without needing a passport my friends! I hope everyone has been getting their fair share of surf. It looks like the Northern Hemisphere is about to start ramping up too, but what a great warm up this last round of swell was! Life is so much better when there’s waves!!!

Wednesday should be another decent day for waves with a combination of swells in the water. We’ll have some 14-16 second interval swell out of the SW, from a liberal 220 degrees and some fresh, 12-14 second interval surf out of the NW from a 300-305 degree angle.

The top spots will see chest to shoulder high surf and with all of the different swells around I wouldn’t be surprised if some larger sets roll in on occasion!

Nice tide push through the morning and the conditions should be okay early again!
