HURRICANE WATCH: Nora is now a tropical depression and is located roughly 425 miles southeast of Hilo, Hawaii. Maximum sustained winds are now near 35 mph with higher gusts. Gradual weakening is expected over the next few days, and Nora may become a tropical remnant low as early as tonight.

There is also an area of disturbed weather about 925 miles south of the southern tip of Baja California Peninsula of Mexico. It remains somewhat disorganized today, but development of this system is possible over the next few days.

What a great OCTOBER! I feel like I made a deal with the Devil. 5 consecutive days of great waves, smoking hot air temps and 70 + degree water up and down the coast. It doesn’t get much better than this without needing a passport my friends! I hope everyone has been getting their fair share of surf. It looks like the Northern Hemisphere is about to start ramping up too, but what a great warm up this last round of swell was! Life is so much better when there’s waves!!!

Thursday looks smaller as all energy backs down through the day. We should still see some inconsistent, waist to chest high sets out of the SW and fading NW energy in the waist to chest high range during the morning tide push.

By Friday things will slow down dramatically as all energy backs down and we’ll become dependent on inconsistent sets out of the SW in the waist high plus zone.

Sunday starts off small with continued knee to waist high surf but a new, NW, medium interval swell will fill in later in the day. This one has a pretty good angle of 285-295 degrees and should put the most exposed West facing breaks into the shoulder to head high range with some bigger sets.
