HURRICANE WATCH: Marty has weakened into an extratropical low and will continue to move away from Mexico to the west and northwest Friday.
Meanwhile, a new tropical depression may form over the next couple of days several hundred miles to the southwest of the southern tip of Baja California.
For Saturday we’ll continue to toil in the knee to waist high range up and down the coast with steeply angled NW wind swell and sporadic small sets out of the SW.

The conditions look good early with Easterly breezes in the 2-5 MPH zone until 11AM and 8-11 MPH out of the West in the afternoon. The air temp gets up to 78 degrees.
Sunday should see a minor burst of NW wind swell but nothing to get real excited about. The top West facing beaches should go waist high plus with some larger chest high sets but the conditions look a bit questionable.

The conditions look problematic on the wind models today with S/SW breezes in the 7-10 MPH zone early and those are slated to ease up in the afternoon. The air temp dips to 72 degrees and there’s a 50% chance of rain.
Monday looks like more smallish, short interval, NW wind swell in the waist high zone and a few stray pulses out of the SW.

The conditions look interesting with variable breezes out of the East in the 8-15 MPH zone all day long. The air temp remains 70 degrees and there’s still a 20% chance of rain.
Tuesday looks slightly better with more smallish, short interval, NW wind swell in the waist high zone and some fresh South swell with waist to chest high sets from an angle of 200 degrees.

The conditions look good with variable breezes out of the East in the 7-11 MPH zone until noon and 10-15 MPH out of the West in the afternoon. The air temp jumps up a click to 72 degrees and there’s a 10% chance of rain.
The current water temps Newport 71 degrees, Huntington 73 degrees, the South Bay showed as 76 degrees, Santa Monica 70 degrees and Malibu 67 degrees.
