HURRICANE WATCH: Tropical Storm Oho has formed south of Hawaii in the Central Pacific Basin and will drift north today before turning northeast on Monday. The forecast track takes Oho far enough to the southeast of the Big Island that the only major impacts from the system will be rough surf, higher waves and rip currents, especially south- and east-facing beaches of the Big Island.
Also in the central Pacific, Tropical Depression 8-C has developed well to the southwest of Hawaii and Johnston Island. Tropical Depression 8-C should track westward over the open waters of the central Pacific over the next several days.
In the East Pacific, a couple areas are being monitored for potential development. The first is an area of weak low pressure over 1,000 miles southwest of the southern tip of Baja California.
Monday looks like more smallish, short interval, NW wind swell in the waist high zone and a few stray pulses out of the SW.
