SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA SURF FORECAST UPDATED on 2-18-2019

For Tuesday morning we’ll see a combination of fading NW ground swell and NW wind swell. All energy will roll in from a steep angle of 305-310 degrees, (the ground swell will have 16 second intervals and wind swell 9-10 second intervals).
The receptive, exposed West facing breaks will top out at chest to shoulder high. You’ll have to tap dance around that morning high tide which will put pretty much all breaks in a sleeper hold.

For Wednesday morning we’ll see continued short interval NW energy, (8-9 seconds from 310 degrees), and dying NW ground swell, (14-15 seconds from 305-3100 degrees), in the chest high + zone for the best West facing beaches.

For Friday morning the surf will drop off a bit, but the top West facing beaches should see shoulder high + surf as both the ground and wind swell fade out through the day. The sea surface should clean up nicely as the winds are slated to blow offshore from late Thursday night into Friday morning.
