HURRICANE WATCH
Bud continues to track toward southern Baja California with landfall expected by Thursday night. The storm has maximum sustained winds of 45 mph and is located about 70 miles to the south-southeast of Cabo San Lucas.
In addition to Bud, we are monitoring an area of low pressure that is located a few hundred miles to the south of Acapulco, Mexico. As this low tracks to the north-northwest, further organization of this feature is likely and it could become a tropical depression or storm by the end of the weekend.
Bottom line: No surf for So Cal from these systems right now… stay tuned.

For Friday morning we’ll dip into the knee to waist high zone up and down the coast. Our waves will be comprised of small NW wind swell from a 310 degree angle and 8-10 second intervals and leftover SW energy from 195-205 degrees and 13-14 second intervals.

For Saturday morning we’ll start off very slow with knee to waist high surf in the AM, (NW wind swell 310 degrees and 10 second intervals), but the bigger news is that we will see some fresh SW swell filling in later in the day. This energy will be more in play for Sunday morning, but there should be some scout sets showing up in the afternoon.
