SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA SURF FORECAST UPDATED on 9-23-18

HURRICANE WATCH
The East Pacific remains relatively quiet and free of any organized tropical features at this time. However, we are watching a low pressure system off the southern coast of Mexico.
The area of low pressure has developed a couple of hundred miles south of Acapulco, Mexico. This system is producing an area of showers and thunderstorms. This system could become an organized tropical system by Tuesday or Wednesday as it moves west-northwestward, well off the coast of Mexico.
The rest of the East Pacific should remain relatively quiet through the next couple of days and through at least the middle of the week. Long-range computer forecasts still show some potential for tropical development in the far western part of the East Pacific basin during the latter part of the week.

By Monday morning we’ll start to see some fresh, small but potent SW swell move into So Cal. This energy will roll up the line from a 200-205 degree angle with 16-18 second intervals and should dish up waist high + sets for the beaches that are receptive to that angle.

For Wednesday morning we will see a fading SW swell from that same 200-205 degree angle. The better South facing beaches should see waist high + sets in the morning and then and a new SW pulse will mix in later in the day. All small bbbullshit swells but it won’t be totaaly flat!
