SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA SURF FORECAST UPDATED 9-19-13
______________________________________________________________________________

HURRICANE WATCH 9-18-13

Manuel has regained tropical storm strength late this morning over the southern Gulf of California as some deeper convection has wrapped around the center of circulation.

The main concern from Manuel is heavy rainfall, which can reach 5 inches over parts of the Mexican states of Sinaloa, Nayarit and also clip far southern parts of Sonora. Due to the slow movement of the storm as it approaches the Baja Peninsula, winds can gust 40-60 mph across the area for over a 24-hour period starting late Thursday and continuing through Friday night as the storm slowly crosses the peninsula.

Unless it moves out to sea, we won’t see any swell generation, it will just do damage to Baja.
