SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA SURF FORECAST UPDATED 9-20-13
HURRICANE WATCH 9-20-13
In the East Pacific, tropical development is not expected over the next 24-48 hours.
Saturday morning looks pretty weak with small pulses of knee to waist high surf up and down the coast. We could see some sets out of the NW start to roll in before sunset, but most of the new energy will fill in under the cloak of darkness.

For Sunday morning we’re poised to get a little bump in size, out of the NW, from a steep 310 degrees, with 12-14 second intervals. Nothing too dramatic, but the better West facing breaks should see waist to possibly chest high surf.

Tuesday morning is looking weak with knee to waist high surf for the West facing breaks. The good news is that a 14-16 second ground swell, from a steep, 310-315 degree angle will start to show up later in the day. It will be tough for most breaks to get a sniff of this one, (due to the severity of the angle), but if we focus on the big picture, it’s a good sign that the NPAC is getting active. We’re way overdue for a good winter and an onslaught of pumping surf!
