SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA SURF FORECAST UPDATED 9-29-13
______________________________________________________________________________

HURRICANE WATCH 9-29-13

Although there are two areas of thunderstorms off the Mexican coast, they remain poorly organized and conditions are not favorable for development in the next few days.
______________________________________________________________________________

For Monday morning things will remain weak for the AM with the top West facing breaks seeing knee to waist high background swell. The good news is that some steeply angled, NW ground swell should start to fill in late in the day. The energy will come down the line with 14-16 second intervals, from a severe 310-315 degrees. In all likelihood it will bypass all but the most exposed West facing breaks, but San Diego and Northern Baja should see the motherlode of swell.

For Tuesday morning, that swell will peak and put the exposed breaks into the shoulder to head high plus zone. *The angle remains STEEP so many breaks will see little or no action. The best bet will be above Pt. Conception and down in the San Diego region.

Thursday morning will be another okay day for waves as that steep, NW wind swell continues to dish up waist high plus surf for the better West facing breaks.

We’ll also see a decent little burst of long interval, SW swell start to show late in the day. This will move in from a fairly liberal 195-200 degrees, with 16-18 second intervals. Top South facing breaks will see chest high sets by Friday morning.
