SURF FORECAST UPDATED 11-21-12
______________________________________________________________________________

I’ve been seeing a lot of frustration out in the line up lately, including yours truly. Don’t be so hard on yourself, the surf has been sub par at best and as I like to say, “You can’t paint with no canvas”. Hopefully the NPAC wakes up soon and starts sending us a couple haymaker swells. Until then we’ll just have to tough it out and take what we get. Just keep things in perspective and give Thanks that you can even surf 🙂 WE ARE ALL LUCKY. Happy Holidays!

Thanksgiving Thursday morning should see a bump in size for the West facing breaks as we see some fresh, shoulder to head high sets for the better West facing breaks. There will also be some waist high plus sets out of the SW, from a 195 degree angle), so it’ll be a good morning to go work up an appetite for a big Thanksgiving dinner.

Thursday

For Friday morning the NW energy will continue to drum up chest to shoulder high sets for the best West facing breaks for the morning session. The swell will back off through the day, but with high pressure in place the conditions should remain good all day long.

To a lesser degree, the SW will also remain in play with some inconsistent waist high sets.

Friday
2012-11-23 Fri 02:08 AM Moonset
2012-11-23 Fri 05:46 AM 5.45 feet High Tide

2012-11-23 Fri 06:33 PM 3.85 feet High Tide
2012-11-23 Fri 11:53 PM 1.57 feet Low Tide

The conditions look fantastic with NNE winds in the 7-9 MPH range until around noon and fairly tame, 6-9 MPH breezes out of the West in the afternoon. Look for an comfortable air temp of 73 degrees.

For Saturday morning the NW energy will dip down into the waist high plus zone and an early morning high tide will do us no favors as it effectively nullifies what little swell there is. The tide will drop quickly so your best shot at mopping up some scraps will come mid morning.

We’ll also see some reinforcement energy out of the NW at a 300 degree angle. This won’t show up until later in the day, but should be good for some waist to maybe stomach high sets for Sunday morning.

Saturday

2012-11-24 Sat 04:46 PM Sunset
2012-11-24 Sat 07:24 PM 3.86 feet High Tide

The conditions look excellent again with NNE winds in the 3-9 MPH range until around noon and 6-10 MPH breezes out of the West in the afternoon. Look for an comfortable air temp of 74 degrees.

For Sunday morning the NW energy will increase a hair but don’t expect much more than waist high plus sets. Once again, a beefy morning tide will put most breaks in a choke hold until mid morning.
