SURF FORECAST UPDATED 11-23-12
______________________________________________________________________________

Add a brutally thick layer of fog to the mix of crowds and closeouts and it’s like Mother Nature is kicking you in the teeth with her new steel toed boots… brutal. Anyway, there’s been some swell, but I’m too complacent to go outside the bubble unless it’s really pumping, so I guess I have no right to bitch, but man, I logged 5 days in a row and got about 5 good waves. I’m not liking those odds too much! I am, however, convinced that a block buster swell is inevitable and that December will be a good month for surf. Keep your fingers crossed.

For Saturday morning the NW energy will dip down into the waist high plus zone, and an early morning high tide will do us no favors, as it effectively nullifies what little swell there is. The tide will drop quickly so your best shot at mopping up some scraps will come mid morning.

We’ll also see some reinforcement energy out of the NW at a 300 degree angle. This won’t show up until later in the day, but should be good for some waist to maybe stomach high sets for Sunday morning.

2012-11-24 Sat 07:24 PM 3.86 feet High Tide

The conditions look excellent again with NNE winds in the 3-9 MPH range until around noon and 6-10 MPH breezes out of the West in the afternoon. Look for an comfortable air temp of 74 degrees.

For Sunday morning the NW energy will increase a hair but don’t expect much more than waist high plus sets. Once again, a beefy morning tide will put most breaks in a choke hold until mid morning.

The conditions look fair + variable winds from 1-6 MPH all day long. Look for an comfortable air temp of 73 degrees.

Monday morning looks a hair smaller than Sunday, so anticipate roughly the same size and shape. Morning high tides will once again play the role of Villain, by softening things up and slowing things down to a crawl through the prime morning hours.

2012-11-26 Mon 04:54 AM Moonset

The conditions should be pretty good with 4-6 MPH breezes out of the E/SE until 1PM and timid 4-6 MPH winds out of the West throughout the afternoon. Look for a high air temp of 65 degrees.

Tuesday morning looks a bit smaller with just background swell in the waist high zone for the better spots.

A 6 foot high tide at 7:43AM will make minced meat out of the small surf. I’d hunt for some smooth, flat rocks… ideal for skipping stones from the shore.
