SURF FORECAST UPDATED 12-5-12

Unfortunately I have no new tales to tell. The song remains the same today but I will take a hard look at the long range forecast tomorrow so check back for details. Also, you photographers out there… feel free to send me your latest shots. If it cuts the mustard we’ll give you a slide show on the forecast page!

Thursday morning should get a little help with a slight bump in short interval, 8-10 second NW wind swell. The top West facing breaks should see waist high plus peaks.

The conditions should be fair with Easterly winds in the 1-4 MPH until noon and 6-8 MPH West winds until dark. Look for an air temp of 64 degrees.

Friday morning may be a little better with continued wind swell and some longer interval energy mixing in. Once again, the West facing beaches will be the call with waist to chest high sets.

By Saturday morning the swell will dip into the waist to chest high zone and the tides look favorable for the dawn patrol.

The conditions look excellent for the AM with NNE winds in the 5-9 MPH range until noon and West winds from 6-8 MPH out of the West in the afternoon. Look for an air temp of 61 degrees.

For Sunday morning we’ll see continued energy out of the NW. Top spots will remain in the waist to chest high plus zone. It looks like we’ll have a rip roaring wind event with blustery NNE winds all day long.

The conditions look very interesting with HEAVY NNE winds in the 13-25 MPH range all day long. Look for an air temp of 63 degrees.

The current water temps are as follows – Newport 62 degrees, Huntington 60 degrees, the South Bay showed as 64 degrees, Santa Monica 61 degrees and Malibu 59 degrees.
