HURRICANE WATCH 9-6-13

Tropical Storm Lorena is very close to the southern tip of Baja California. Heavy and locally flooding rains will affect extreme southern Baja into tonight, including the popular resort city Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. Heavy rain will continue across the rest of the southern Baja and parts of western Mexico through Saturday.

Rainfall totals of 3-6 inches, with locally higher amounts, will occur through Saturday as Lorena tracks northward and slowly weakens. This will create the potential for localized flash flooding as well as mudslides. Locally heavy rain and possible flash flooding from Lorena will reach the southwest U.S. deserts later this weekend and continue early next week.
