SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA SURF FORECAST UPDATED 4-17-14

Friday morning should see some tiny lines with some small NW wind swell, (8-10 second intervals), from a steep angle of 310 degrees. The top South facing breaks should do a little better with waist high plus sets from a steep 185 degrees. The top spots in the OC and San O’ areas should produce larger sets once the tide starts to fill in.

The conditions look okay with variable breezes out of the S/SE, in the 3-6 MPH zone until 11AM and and those will get up to 8-10 MPH in the afternoon. The air temp remains at 67 degrees.

Saturday morning looks like a real snoozer with just smallish, NW wind swell in the water. The best spots should see knee to waist high crumblers through the morning.

The conditions look mediocre at best with variable breezes out of the West, in the 2-4 MPH zone until 10AM and and those will get up to 10-12 MPH in the afternoon. The air temp dips down to 63 degrees.

Sunday morning – EASTER- should be a little better with some fresh, long interval, S/SW ground swell from a 185-190 degree angle. The most exposed South facing spots should see chest high plus sets!

A minus tide at 8:23AM may slow down most spots through the morning hours but we should see improvement mid morning early afternoon.

The current water temps Newport 58 degrees, Huntington 59 degrees, the South Bay showed as 62 degrees, Santa Monica 60 degrees and Malibu 57 degrees.
