HURRICANE WATCH August 31, 2014 – Marie was once a very powerful hurricane, but it is now a distant memory. The swells that were generated by Marie earlier this week have dissipated and we’re looking at very tranquil weather over the eastern Pacific this weekend. No development is anticipated for any feature over the basin during the next 24-48 hours.

Monday morning could be fun as both the SW and NW energy hang on for another day. The top combo spots should see waist to chest high surf. The wind swell will move in from a steep angle of 310 degrees with 6-8 second intervals and the SW will come in from a 220 degree angle with 14-16 second intervals. Once again, nothing too dynamic, but definitely better than a sharp stick in the eye.

For Tuesday morning we’ll go back into a psuedo wave slump for a while with just leftover, sporadic sets out of the South. Both the SW and NW energy will be on the fade. Consider yourself lucky if anything bigger waist high comes your way!
