Chicama
We’re heading out to Peru tonight and the swell looks SOLID for at least the first 8 days of our trip. We are going down to write a review of the Chicama Boutique Hotel and Spa which has a front row view of one of the longest waves in the world. We will be shooting video and stills while we’re down there follow our swellmagnet facebook page, (click the link above the picture), to see how we make out… we should be in for some real good stuff!

HURRICANE WATCH September 1st, 2014 – For the first time in what seems like a long while, we don’t have any features of great importance over the next day or two, but that is expected to change as we head into the middle of the week.

A trough of low pressure a few hundred miles to the southwest of Mexico is largely disorganized right now, and conditions are not favorable for development over the next 48 hours or so. That should change, however, later in the week as wind shear decreases. As such, we may have to contend with a developing tropical system in the three- to five-day time frame. Unlike past systems, this feature will slowly work its way to the north or northwest and may pose a threat to the coast of Mexico.

For Tuesday morning we’ll go back into a psuedo wave slump for a while with just leftover, sporadic sets out of the South. Both the SW and NW energy will be on the fade. Consider yourself lucky if anything bigger waist high comes your way!
