HURRICANE WATCH: Tropical Storm Guillermo continues to track off to the west-northwest at around 12 mph. Although the center of Guillermo will remain to the north and northeast of the Hawaiian Islands, there will still be some impacts from the storm over the next few days. Rough surf, large waves and rip currents will continue to affect the Hawaiian Islands through Friday.
Elsewhere, we are monitoring an area of low pressure nearly 900 miles southwest of the southern tip of Baja California. The next name on the list for East Pacific storms is Hilda. This system will have to be watched for eventual potential impacts to Hawaii, but any effects there are still several days away.
Thursday looks a little slower with a fading small South swell in the knee to waist high+ range.
Another little burst of South swell will start to creep in late in the day. This energy will be a little steeper with a 180-185 degree angle so only the most exposed will get a sniff of this swell. Small again, but with the long intervals it should still have enough push to get you going!

Friday morning looks okay for the most exposed South facing breaks with steep, 180-185 degree angle swell in the waist high plus range. Not quite promising enough to go chase it down, but if you’re in the OC area you may be able to snag a few scraps!
