HURRICANE WATCH: Tropical Storm Dolores has sustained winds of 45 mph with gusts to 60 mph. Dolores will continue to intensify over the next few days as the storm tracks over warm water and is expected to become a hurricane by Monday afternoon.

The area of disturbed weather 1,200 miles southwest of the southern tip of Baja California has been upgraded to Tropical Depression 6-E and is moving northwest at 8 mph. This depression is forecast to stay over warm water and strengthen into a tropical storm as early as tonight. However, longer range models suggest that unfavorable conditions for intensification exist to the northwest of the storm. This may prevent further strengthening by days 4 and 5.

Stay tuned… things happen fast in the tropics!
