HURRICANE WATCH: Hurricane Dolores has maximum sustained winds of 85 mph with gusts to 105 mph. The storm is located about 250 miles to the south-southwest of Cabo Corrientes, Mexico, and is tracking slowly away from the Mexican coast. Dolores will continue to intensify over the next few days and become a major hurricane by Wednesday as the storm tracks over warm water and in an area of low shear.

Tropical Storm Enrique is centered about 1,300 miles west-southwest of the southern tip of Baja California. Enrique is forecast to stay over warm water for the next day or two, allowing it to maintain tropical storm status. However, long-range models suggest that unfavorable conditions for intensification exist to the northwest of the storm, and this may prevent further strengthening by the middle of this week. Current forecasts do not have the storm reaching hurricane strength.

Stay tuned… things happen fast in the tropics!
